Today we’ll talk about 900$ gaming laptop.
First of all, if you are buying a 1000$ than you should ask yourself if you really want a laptop. Why? because it seems you in it for the gaming and for that money you’ll get a far better performance with a desktop (ahowever not portable).
Secondly, for 900$ I would currently choose one of the following:
1. Lenovo IdeaPad Y570 with a Intel SB Core I7 CPU and a Nvidia GT 555M GPU. Highest performance, very good screen. You’ll also get very good build quality and 8GB DDR3 memory. Buy through Lenovo or Amazon
2. Asus N55SF also with some I7 CPU and a GT 555M GPU. Has a good screen and same performance as the above. Buy it if you like ASUS, but I don’t see special reason for it and it might be more expensive (currenty I see for more than 900$)
3. This is also one of my recommandations for 800$ gaming laptop : Dell XPS 15.6″ L502x. Intel SB Core I5 and a GT 540M. It has less power horse, BUT it features the best screen and battery runtime among all. Also, has a good keyboard and mouse (read review on notebookcheck)
4. one of the HP Pavilion dv6 or dv6t laptops with a AMD Radeon HD 6770M / 7690M GPU which offer even better performance than the GT 555M, but the screen won’t be as good according to the reviews (1, 2) I saw for similar models/
Why these laptops?
Because you won’t get a better GPUs than that for 900 bucks and other models just have a much lesser screen which, I think, is a significant parameter when choosing a laptop for gaming.
You can choose other laptop who cost less or include features you like (maybe more connectivity options, like more USB 3.0 ports, or maybe a better sound system). My gaming laptops comparisons based mainly on performance, screen quality, build quality, battery runtime and heat dissipation.
