Well, a dual GT 650M GPU Y500 laptops are now available over the web for a good price:
1. Lenovo Y500 with an I7-3630QM, dual GT 650M configuration, 8GB DDR3, 1080p screen, 1TB HDD and Windows OS for 1025$
2. The same Y500 only with an I5-3230M and 6GB DDR3 memory for 900$ which is far more cost effective in my opinion and this should be your first choice
The cost effectiveness of the Y500 with a dual GT 650M GPUs is very high as far as gaming performance goes. You get a gaming performance higher than a GTX 670MX (and usually below 675MX) in most cases, including BF3, Sleeping Dogs and Boderlands 2 and GW2. According to the notebookcheck benchmark, one weak point is Dirt: Showdown where you get a something like a single GT 650M performance. read review.
The direct competitor, as I see it, is the MSI GX60 which now also sells for 1050$-1100$ and includes an AMD A10-4600M CPU, Radeon 7970M, matte 1080p screen, 750GB 7200RPM HDD, blu-ray player and a Windows OS – the GX60 also has a very high gaming performance (like BF3) but in some cases the A10 probably is too limiting. It was not tested yet with latest AMD drivers which improves the performance A LOT.
For around 1000$, both the Y500 and GX60 are my favorites.

Both Y-500 come with two GPU, running in SLI. A very nice offer indeed! Except for those that really want/need a blu-ray or dvd drive on the laptop (but u can get a external drive cheap?).
Thanks. Already realized it – should update
Yes, you can get a blu-ray reader anyway (it’s only a reader, not a writer)
I’ve purchased this laptop recently in India. Any idea where i can order the exactly compatible extra gfx card / SSD / hard disk from ? Am open to ordering from US etc
