Hamzoro, you won’t see it in videos probably. And yes, it would be felt in many high paced games

@junky, I see. What about this guy on eBay?

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Asus-FX502VM-Series-LED-LCD-Screen-for-15-6-FHD-Gaming-Laptop-120Hz-Display-/142300344351?hash=item2121c2f01f:g:3wUAAOSw~AVYugWr

I asked him if it was IPS and he said yes, I then asked him about the exact model name of the panel but he doesnt reply. I’ll probably send him another message. It is pretty expensive though and that’s why I want to be 100% sure it is both 120Hz and IPS as he says it is. I live in Europe and will get charged with import fees. So it’s very important it is correct.

Don’t you want to get the same 120HZ display that was mentioned here before?

Not sure, if the one I linked truly is IPS I would rather get that, I just realized that the seller is the same for both the one I linked and the 120Hz TN mentioned here earlier. I will wait until the seller answers my question about the monitor name.

We’ll have to know the exact model. The problem is availability really. If you can get a straight and clear reply from this seller, that’s good. Otherwise, I would keep searching for exact panel models

Exactly, I will wait for his answer and report back. In the meantime I also found this dude

This panel (B156HAN04.3) is the one used in the GL502VS (120Hz), I asked him if it was 120Hz to which he replied it was not. Weird, perhaps it’s the older panel used in the Skylake GL502VS, but I would atleast expect it to have a different name, or this seller simply doesnt know what he’s talking about. The new ROG GX501 Zephyrous also uses an 120Hz IPS panel called B156HAN04.2. That however is impossible to find anywhere.

at least the basic GL502VS didn’t have a 120HZ display

About this specific model, it seems like the usual IPS display, nothing special (specs)

That’s true, isn’t it funny that neither the B156HAN04.3 or 4.2 can be found on that site lol. It’s like all resellers never sell 120Hz panels, except for eBay sellers.

Ok he replied and said that the panels name is B156HTN05.1. As far as I know that is not an IPS panel as he said it is, since AUO IPS panels usually have “HAN” instead of “HTN”. The other 120Hz panel mentioned here is the B156HTN05.2. Their names/numbers are really close to each other just like the 120HZ IPS panels I mentioned earlier. I’m going to ask him to thoroughly check if it is an IPS panel and see what he will answer.

Aight lads, I need some input. Has anyone tried replacing the FX502VM screen with any AUO panel with a “HAN” in it instead of “HTN”? I have found a dude selling the GX501 120Hz IPS panels now, but the seller says it wont fit/work with the FX502VM since it has “HTN” instead of “HAN”, is this true? I highly doubt it.

The mentioned panel in this thread is B156HAN01.2.. that’s a well known 1080p IPS display, 60HZ

Don’t understand what won’t work with the FX502VM

Yea, I was suspecting he was talking bullshit as well, looks like these resellers dont even know much about what they are selling. Anyways, I’m going to buy it and will report back how it goes, it will take 2-3 weeks before it arrives.

If anyone is interested here it is, only 3 in stock! (He confirmed it was B156HAN04.2)

Just a heads up to anyone interested, the other dude selling the 120Hz TN panels told me they will have both the B156HAN04.3 (from GL502VS) and B156HAN04.2 (from GX501) in stock in 2 weeks. So you might want to contact him at that time.

Yea the biggest challenge is getting the actual panel you want because of these resellers and their “compatible Panel” bullcrap.

Good luck and let us know.

The B156HTN05.2 isn’t a bad display, but viewing angles aren’t great. I would try to find the other IPSs with low response times mentioned in this thread.

Ffs, I think this seller is playing games with me or some shit. He’s now telling me the B156HAN04.2 has been sold out, so the transaction has been cancelled.
